Tally Prime earned its reputation the hard way — it's the default every Indian CA is trained on, it produces a real trial balance and balance sheet, and it handles GST filing, e-invoicing, and e-way bills at a depth Nesayo doesn't try to match. None of that is in question. The gap shows up specifically at the retail counter, in the seconds between a customer asking for a medicine and the bill being printed: Tally has no pre-loaded medicine catalogue, so every SKU has to be entered and priced by hand the first time it's sold, and its batch and expiry-date options are general-inventory settings the owner has to switch on and configure; they are not pharmacy rules such as picking the earliest-expiring batch at billing.
The Schedule H1 register is the sharpest example. Nothing in Tally's ledger structure represents "this specific sale needs the prescriber's name, address, the patient's name, and the quantity recorded, retained for three years, and open to inspection" — because that's a pharmacy-regulation concept, not an accounting one, and Tally was never built to know about D&C Rules Rule 65. A pharmacy running Tally alone keeps that register on paper alongside it, which is legally fine but is exactly the manual burden a pharmacy-specific tool exists to reduce.
In practice this is a once-a-month step, not an ongoing integration to maintain.
