Tally is the accounting gold standard in India — every CA uses it. But pharmacies need pharmacy-specific features Tally doesn't include. Here's when to use which — or both.

Both. Use Nesayo for daily operations (billing, stock, expiry, Schedule H1). Export monthly sales + purchase summary to Tally XML for your CA. Tally handles the accounting your CA needs; Nesayo handles the pharmacy-specific compliance and efficiency that Tally doesn't cover. Tally XML export from Nesayo is on our 2026 roadmap.
Yes, technically — Tally handles GST invoicing for any business. But it lacks: pre-loaded medicine database, Schedule H1 register (legally required under D&C Rules Rule 65 for H1 drug sales), FEFO batch selection, expiry alerts, drug interaction checks, voice billing. Pharmacies using only Tally typically maintain Schedule H1 register on paper (compliant but slow).
Tally Silver ₹22,500 one-time = ₹4,500/year average over 5 years. Nesayo ₹5,988/year. Tally is cheaper if you ignore feature set and stick to basics. But Tally doesn't include any pharmacy-specific features, so you'd still need paper-based H1 register + manual FEFO + manual expiry tracking. The operational time cost outweighs the ₹1,500/year savings for most pharmacies.
Not as of April 2026 — Tally XML export is a high-priority item on our 2026 roadmap. Many of our pilot pharmacies' CAs have requested this. Today, monthly GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B exports from Nesayo can be imported into Tally via its GST return ingestion features.
Unlikely. Tally's core strength is multi-entity accounting at enterprise scale — they don't build pharmacy-specific compliance features. The two are complementary, not competitive.
We handle your counter. Tally handles your accounts. Export monthly, done.
