LOGIC ERP is, as the name says, an ERP — a system designed to run a whole business's operations, with pharmacy as one configured vertical alongside apparel, supermarket, footwear and others. That architecture brings genuine strengths: a mature purchase module, configurable registers, GST handling built for businesses more complex than a single counter, and a partner network across India that can configure it to how a particular business actually works. For a pharmacy that is part of a larger retail operation, or one with genuinely unusual processes, configurability is worth real money.
The cost of that generality is that configurability is the opposite of opinionated defaults. An ERP asks you to define how your registers, batches, and workflows should behave; a pharmacy-first tool decides most of that for you because there is only one kind of business it serves. For a shop with a pharmacist and one or two counter staff and no IT person, having the software already know what a Schedule H1 sale requires — without anyone configuring it — is usually worth more than the ability to configure it differently.
These sound like the same feature and are not, which is worth spelling out because it's the single most consequential difference on the whole table. Batch-wise inventory with expiry tracking means the system knows each batch's expiry date and can report on it — you can run a report, see what's expiring, and act. Enforced FEFO means the software actively picks the first-expiring batch when a medicine is billed, and refuses to sell an expired one at all.
The difference only shows up under pressure. A tracking system depends on somebody running the report and acting on it; during a busy week, nobody does, and stock quietly expires on the shelf while the data sat there correctly the whole time. Enforcement doesn't depend on anyone remembering. The refusal to sell expired stock is the sharper half: selling an expired drug is a regulatory exposure under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, not just a financial write-off, and a system that warns rather than blocks leaves that decision to whoever is at the counter at the time. When comparing any two pharmacy products, this is the question worth asking directly — does it warn, or does it block?
