How to Export Your Marg ERP Stock to Nesayo in Under 5 Minutes

2026-04-21 • 6 min read

If you are running a retail pharmacy on Marg ERP and want to move to a cloud platform like Nesayo, the single biggest question is: will my stock data come across cleanly? (If you have not decided yet and are still weighing the two, the feature-by-feature Nesayo vs Marg ERP comparison is the page for that; this one assumes the decision is made.) This guide walks through the end-to-end export and import in under 5 minutes, with the exact column names Marg uses and what to check after import.

This post touches on Marg ERP. See the full, line-by-line comparison — including where it genuinely wins.

Nesayo vs Marg ERP →

Step 1 — Export stock from Marg ERP

  1. Open Marg ERP on your billing counter PC.
  2. Go to Reports → Inventory Reports → Current Stock (Batchwise).
  3. Choose Export to Excel (some Marg versions label this as "Send to Excel").
  4. Save the file to a pen drive or email it to yourself.

The exported file typically has these column headers, in this order:

Step 2 — Import to Nesayo

  1. Log in at your pharmacy URL on Nesayo.
  2. Open the Stock page and tap Upload CSV / photo.
  3. Upload the Excel or CSV file from Step 1.
  4. Nesayo reads the columns automatically. Rows it reads cleanly go into stock straight away; rows it is unsure of wait on the review page that opens next.
  5. On the review page, check that:

- Medicine names match the originals (no truncation)

- Expiry dates are converted to YYYY-MM-DD format, with a month-only expiry resolved to the last day of that month (so 05/27 becomes 2027-05-31 — a pack printed EXP 05/2027 stays sellable through 31 May 2027)

- Quantities and MRPs match what Marg showed

  1. Fix or confirm any row held for review.

Step 3 — Verify the import

Before you start billing from Nesayo, run these three checks:

  1. Open the billing page and search for 3 medicines you sell daily. Each should show the batch, expiry, and MRP correctly.
  2. Go to Dashboard → Money at Risk and confirm that medicines with expiry dates in the next 30 or 60 days are flagged.
  3. Run the Expiry Guard agent manually. It should produce alerts matching what you already track manually.

If any of these three checks fail, contact support before making any bill in Nesayo, and keep using Marg in parallel until the issue is resolved.

Common issues and fixes

What Nesayo does differently after import

Once your stock is in Nesayo, the Full plan (₹549/month as of October 2026) adds five agents, including these:

Voice billing (beta) comes with the paid plans from Essential (₹249/month as of October 2026) and lets you bill by speaking in Hindi or English instead of typing.

When to stop using Marg

We recommend running both Marg and Nesayo in parallel for one full billing week. Match daily totals at end of day to ensure GST calculations and sales reporting agree. After 7 days of identical results, stop billing in Marg.

If you would like a walk-through demo of the migration on your actual stock file, start your free account on Nesayo and send your exported CSV — we will confirm the parse will work before you import.

Nesayo runs pharmacy operations while you serve customers

Free billing forever. Full — 5 agents, voice billing in Hindi — is ₹549/month (as of October 2026). Every new standalone pharmacy gets 1 month of Full free from signup, with no card. Manual billing and manual stock stay free forever.
